Privacy Policy for Battery Temperature
Last updated: August 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Battery Temperature app ("the App") handles information. We built this app to be as simple and private as possible: it does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, because it has
no internet access at all.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information. The App does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email, location, or any other personal identifier, and has no way to send data anywhere — it does not request internet
access permission.
2. Device Data the App Reads
The App reads your device's current battery temperature using Android's built-in BatteryManager system API. This reading is used only to display the temperature on screen, in the notification, and to trigger the optional
on-device high-temperature alert. This data:
- Is read directly from the operating system in real time
- Is never stored beyond the current reading
- Is never transmitted off your device
- Is never shared with the developer or any third party
3. Settings Stored on Your Device
Your preferences — temperature unit (°C/°F), whether the notification is shown, the alert threshold, and the time between alerts — are saved locally on your device using Android's standard app-preferences storage. This
information never leaves your device and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the App.
4. Permissions the App Requests, and Why
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to show the ongoing battery-temperature notification and high-temperature alerts.
- Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): to keep monitoring the battery temperature reliably while the notification is enabled.
- Receive Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): to resume battery-temperature monitoring automatically after you restart your device, if you've enabled the notification.
None of these permissions are used to collect or share data — they exist solely to let the App function as described.
5. Third-Party Services
The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services, and does not share data with any third party, because it collects no data to share.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, since it collects no information at all.
7. Data Security
Since no data is collected or transmitted, there is no data-in-transit or server-side storage to secure. Locally stored settings are protected by Android's standard app sandboxing.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
